In 2000, Gary Arnold decided to sell his technology development company to take on something he believed was more compatible with his life.
"I consider technology the young man's game compared to he real estate business," he says.
Thanks to the success of his former technology company, Dynatech, which Arnold sold to a Fortune 500 company, start-up capital for his new venture was not an issue.
Since the start of Esterra Development, a real estate development, investment and management firm, Arnold has become accustomed to the ups and downs of the real estate business. With preparations to "market, position and package the very unique vacation ownership options" Esterra continues to strive for, an impressive year in real estate, and a constantly growing population, Arnold is glad to be in Arizona.
With three businesses under his belt, Arnold expects this venture to be his last.
Although Arnold may not foresee any budding businesses in his future, he has already acquired plenty of understanding of the qualities needed to prosper in the business world.
"My advice to other entrepreneurs would be perserverance," he says. "I've started three businesses; the first one didn't work too well, the second one broke even, and the third worked really well."
